ABOUT
For thirty days, I dedicated myself to overcoming my shyness, something that has been holding me back for far too long. Being a college student, I see people smiling and making memories everyday. Everyone always tells me to "make sure you are having fun!", but I can never back up my 'fun' with anything exciting to tell them. I wanted to take this opportunity to overcome something that has been holding me back, both socially with others, and mentally with myself. I wanted to step out of my box, make new friends, and prove to myself I could be like every other smiling college kid I see on campus. I wanted to overcome my social phobia and be happy.
I knew I was not alone in feeling held back from a social phobia. By participating in this experiment, I wanted to be able to share my results in order to help others overcome similar issues to my own. This project was a perfect chance to help others with something that has held far too many back for far too long.
CRITERIA & PURPOSE
I had a few criteria I had to meet while participating in this experiment, which are as follows:
1. Immerse myself in something new to try for thirty days while finding a 'community' to belong to.
2. Use primary and secondary research in order to conduct the experiment.
3. Find how my experiment could help a broader audience.
4. Some other technical shenanigans that I had to incorporate in a paper I had to write for the class.
The purpose of this experiment was to take something I was interested in, and immerse myself in a research project in order to use different types of research that can be related to a broader audience. I learned a tremendous about of information from this experiment. Most importantly to wait out an entire project.
